Staff

White Stag operates solely on volunteer efforts as a non-profit organization. We require assistance in various capacities. Your support as a volunteer during our monthly weekend work parties or at summer camp would be greatly appreciated. Please consider joining us!

Youth and adult staff

The program is proudly youth-led by members of BSA Venturing Crew 122. Experienced and trained older youths, who have previously participated and graduated from Phase 2 and/or Phase 3 serve as volunteer Youth Staff Counselors. These individuals undergo a rigorous ten-month training program to effectively guide and mentor new participants in a week-long program that they plan and design themselves.

Adult volunteer advisors are consistently present in the background, providing guidance, coaching, and instruction to the youth staff members while prioritizing the safety of all participants. These adults undergo specialized Youth Protection training through the Boy Scouts of America, which includes Mandated Reporter training and Livescan fingerprinting, ensuring their preparedness to maintain a secure environment.

Our staff-to-camper ratio is about 1 staff for every 4 campers.

We believe leadership can be learned

Through leadership training and development, young people will gain personal growth that will help them be successful throughout life by improving self-confidence, self-reliance, interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and responsibility.
