What's new?
White Stag Monterey now owns Camp Pico Blanco!
Thank you to our supporters! We could not have completed the purchase without you!
The Story
Pico Blanco has always been a special place for the White Stag Program. Over the years, the White Stag program has become deeply intertwined with the camp. The program was founded at Pico Blanco Scout Reservation in 1958 by Bela Banathy. The first 20 years of the White Stag Summer Programs were held at Pico Blanco. After that, the White Stag Program continued by using various other camps in the greater Bay Area.
In the Fall of 2021, Pico Blanco went up for sale. Over 30 large companies, individuals, and developers applied to be considered to purchase the property. The Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council awarded the purchase agreement for the core camp to White Stag Monterey. They felt White Stag would keep the property operating as a youth camp and would be good stewards of the land and preserve the camp in its natural state, as well as allow Scouting to continue at Camp Pico Blanco through a reservation system. White Stag Leadership Development Academy, Inc. is grateful for the amazing opportunity to preserve the majestic and special property for generations of kids to come to experience the great outdoors and fulfill its Vision.

The camp has not been used since the 2017 Sobrantes Fire and the flooding that followed. The camp needs much work to get it back to a serviceable state for summer camp.
